Apple Challah French Toast

L’Shana Tova!! Happy New Years to all those who are celebrating!

Rosh Hashana is a Jewish holiday celebrating the Jewish New Year. People often have sweet things (apples and honey) because we want everyone to start the year off on a sweet note. We also have round challah instead of the typical long braided challah because it signifies a continued circle of your life to go into the next year without loose ends.

This apple challah French toast was my way of participating in the holiday and here’s how I did it...

  • 1 Apple

  • Coconut Oil

  • Cinnamon

  • 1 Egg

  • 1/4th cup vanilla soy milk

  • 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract

  • 1 Tbsp Brew Dr. Kombucha in Harvest

  • Round Challah (any bread works though)

  • Earth Balance Butter

  • Chia Seeds

  • Honey

  • Maple Syrup

  • Micheles Granola

How to:

  1. Cut apple and place in pan with coconut oil and cinnamon making sure to stir occasionally until browned.

  2. In a bowl crack the egg, add the vanilla soy milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon and the Brew Dr. Harvest Kombucha.

  3. Whisk then dip the bread of your choice on both sides making sure to get it drenched.

  4. Place on pan with coconut oil making sure to flip until they become crispy.

  5. In your apple pan add some more Brew Dr. Harvest kombucha and cook until the kombucha has been cooked into the apples.

  6. Top the French toast with the vegan butter, chia seeds, honey, maple syrup, granola and apples.

  7. Enjoy with the rest of your Brew Dr. Harvest kombucha!
